What’s Hadestown London Show About?

Hadestown is all about retelling the Greek myth of Eurydice and Orpheus in a bold manner. Here, you will get to witness the Depression-era blended with struggle, hope, and music. In order to survive, Eurydice gets involved with Hades through a risky bargain. Wondering who Hades is? Well, he is the underworld's powerful ruler running a heartless factory. Orpheus, to save Eurydice, begins his journey toward Hadestown; obviously, there were challenges, and guidance from ever-watchful Fates and Hermes.

While the soul-touching story of Eurydice and Orpheus was still unfolding, on the other hand, the tale of Hades and Persephone (Hades’ wife), was the real ‘treat to the eyes’. The strikingly modern and timeless story between these two will definitely leave you in absolute awe.

How Did Hadestown Come to Life?

Anaïs Mitchell is a singer-songwriter, and the idea of Hadestown initially began with her. In 2010, Hadestown was more of a folk-opera concept; things changed in 2012, when Anaïs Mitchell teamed up with Rachel Chavkin, and Hadestown, the musical, was brought to life. They added 15 new songs, along with power and depth to the characters.

Premiered in 2016 at New York Theatre Workshop, Hadestown's kickstarter journey took the world by storm. In 2017, Hadestown was presented at Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre, and in 2018, the show travelled to London’s National Theatre. After its Broadway debut, Hadestown was a screaming sensation, earning rave reviews, winning multiple awards, and earning tags/titles. West End patrons, this is your chance to enjoy the moment, get your Hadestown London Tickets maybe?

Why Hadestown Is a MUST Watch?

From the foot-stomping choruses to the onstage band, Hadestown is a speakeasy seance- spirited, alive, and smoky. Here, you come across big questions that are asked with even bigger hearts. This deeply human and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience is just a few steps away- book your Hadestown Tickets in London as soon as possible.
